Our classic RCAF caps have stood the test of time and help to raise funds for our Canadian Airforce Veterans Association in conjunction with the Department of National Defence. The roundel we feature reflects the original artwork created for the RCAF Roundel and two layers of vintage style appliqué complete the package. deHavilland Tiger Moths, Chipmunks and later NAA Harvards military training aircraft were painted the iconic yellow and also featured the silver-bordered Canadian flags we’ve added to the rear port side of the caps. Made of 100% brushed cotton.
This cap is solid, adjustable, comfortable and very well put together. The fit is comfortable, the stitching is strong, the look is great. I'd buy anything from Pilots HQ!
I built this kit as a teenager most of 55 years ago. The kit is essentially the same, but now they’re laser cut. In the past, the panels were die-cut, sometimes you get one done with a dull cutter. That took a lot of extra time, carefully re-scoring everything with a narrow Exacto blade so the pieces wouldn’t split. This kit is so crisp, it’s a joy to assemble. It’s fun seeing old reflexes come to life while assembling this baby. I only have the FW-190 from those years, but also built this one (the Hellcat), the Spitfire, Me-109, and the P-40. Good times!
