The surface mounting spud serves as an attachment point for the Nflight billet mount. You can leave the extra spud in place to enable quick mounting of your GoPro camera.

With this rock-solid design any #6, #8, or #10 machine screw becomes a camera mounting point. Simply remove the screw and install the spud with a longer screw and you have a camera hard point for the Nflight billet mount. Purchase the Nflightcam Billet Mount for a complete kit and purchase extra spud mounts to avoid taking them on and off every time you want to change angles.
