I built this kit as a teenager most of 55 years ago. The kit is essentially the same, but now they’re laser cut. In the past, the panels were die-cut, sometimes you get one done with a dull cutter. That took a lot of extra time, carefully re-scoring everything with a narrow Exacto blade so the pieces wouldn’t split. This kit is so crisp, it’s a joy to assemble. It’s fun seeing old reflexes come to life while assembling this baby. I only have the FW-190 from those years, but also built this one (the Hellcat), the Spitfire, Me-109, and the P-40. Good times!
Pilots HQ had the best price on the pump needed to replace the one on my plane that was failing. It actually shipped ahead of schedule, arrived quickly to my IA who was ale to install it and get me back in the air in a timely manner. Great service and price.
