TECTYL® 437 is a corrosion-preventive compound designed for the US military that provides a long-term effective barrier against atmospheric corrosion. These products require a hot application; the resulting film is firm and tan. Both products are approved for preservative and sealing compounds under Military Specification MIL-C-11796C titled “Corrosion Preventive Compound, Petrolatum, Hot Application.
APPLICATION
TECTYL® 437 is supplied in open-head containers and is a solid at room temperature. The products can be applied to clean, dry metal surfaces in the molten state by hot, airless spray or dip at 200°F.
This was my first time using it, and it worked great! I had plenty of work time, and just 24 hours later it was fully cured and ready to go. Excellent product with fast service. Pilots HQ is now my go-to source for epoxy—it’s the best because it’s strong and reliable.
