AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 was developed essentially to meet the requirements of Pratt & Whitney 521 B Type II and MIL -L-23699 specifications and is entirely suitable for all civil and military engines requiring this class of lubricant.Second Generation Synthetic Turbine Engine oil AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 is a 5 centistoke synthetic hindered ester oil incorporating additives to help improve thermal and oxidational stability and also metal passivation.
High Viscosity Index Synthetic Base Fluids used in AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 maintain viscosity and help protect components more effectively under the high shear stresses that a turbine system places on lubricants.
The outstanding high temperature and oxidation stability of AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 is due to the natural properties of the synthetic hindered ester base fluids used. These fluids are clean running in that they tend to dissolve varnish and sludge rather than leave deposits on working surfaces.
Research and Development has enabled the most suitable selection of additive to be used in order to provide the excellent oxidation stability, superior load carrying and exceptional protection against high temperature corrosion of metals.
AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 is also approved for use in the industrial and marine versions of certain aero-engines listed. Health and Safety: AeroShell Turbine Oil 500 is unlikely to present any significant health or safety hazard when properly used in the recommended application, and good standards of industrial and personal hygiene are maintained.
The Frekote 770-NC synthetic mold release I ordered has a 6-month shelf life from the factory. The can I received on 8/25 was set to expire on 8/31 according to the date printed on the bottom of the can. I called and sent a photo of the can bottom and they said it should have been taken off the shelf a month earlier, so they will send me a good can when new stock arrives without sending the out of date can back.
I appreciate the fast delivery and them taking care of the issue, but it means you could be buying product that has only one month of shelf life remaining. Call before you buy and have them confirm the expiration date of their stock and if it is less than works for you, work out delivery from fresh stock or negotiate a discount.
It's the standard pilot log for a reason. Many different flight time categories with just enough space for remarks. As a helicopter pilot, it would be nice if the endorsements section wasn't fixed-wing focused; but I get that there are a lot fewer helicopter pilots out there, so I won't dock any stars for that. This is my third ASA-SP-57 logbook at this point, and I intend to keep getting more of them in the future.
